Yes, our Thermoplastic devices are waterproof but soften in warm water, so avoid boiling water.
It depends on your condition. You may remove it for washing or showering, but after surgery or tendon injury, only remove it with your therapist’s or surgeon’s approval.
You can clean it with cold water and mild detergent or an alcohol wipe. The material can melt and reshape with heat, so avoid contact with heaters and ovens. In summer, don’t leave it in the car as it may deform.
Standard consultations cost $165. Longer sessions are $250.00. Splints are charged separately. If your private health fund covers custom splints, you may be able to claim part of the cost.
A brace from the chemist is generic and not shaped to your hand. A thermoplastic splint is custom-moulded for comfort, and can be remoulded as swelling or pain improves.
