Meet Chen Li

Chen Li

Chen Li is a Sydney hand therapist with a decade of experience in treating hand, wrist and elbow conditions. Graduating from the University of Sydney in 2012 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy), Chen commenced her hand therapy career at Sydney Hospital Hand Unit and Sydney Children’s Hospital. She enjoyed the challenge of creating customsied splints for both adult and paediatric hand and upper limb conditions.

Since 2016, Chen has worked across Sydney hand therapy clinics, treating a wide range of conditions, from overuse to complex hand, wrist and elbow injuries. She has held the internationally recognised Certified Hand Therapist (USA) credential since 2019 and is an Accredited Hand Therapist awarded by the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA).

Chen adopts an innovative, evidence-based and holistic approach to patient care. She values working collaboratively with hand surgeons, general practitioners and allied health professionals to achieve the best results for patients. Using the latest treatment methods, Chen tailors an individualised recovery plan that is specific to each patient’s hand condition, goals and lifestyle.

Outside of the clinic, Chen actively contributes to increasing recognition of the hand therapy expertise. She is the current Chair of the NSW AHTA Advocacy Committee and Committee Member of the AHTA National Advocacy Committee. Chen is also an affiliate member of the NSW Hand Surgery Association.

Chen was born in China and consults in English, Mandarin and Shanghainese. In addition to her clinical work, she is also a recognised female sports leader in NSW.
