Yes, paediatric hand therapy is a non-invasive treatment for children and adolescents with a hand and upper limb condition.
Accredited Hand Therapist, Chen Li, brings experience from her time at the Sydney Children’s Hospital, where she treated a high number of young patients of various ages with upper-limb problems.
This means your little one is safe with an experienced practitioner from day one, with an approach tailored to your child’s age, condition and comfort level:

Hand therapy is a conservative approach to treating injuries and conditions. Treatment may include splinting, casting and rehabilitation exercises for your child to achieve full recovery.
If surgery is required, this will be a last resort treatment. Chen works closely with hand surgeons, GPs, paediatricians and other allied health professionals to get the best outcome for your young one.
Every splint is designed to fit your child’s arm to minimise discomfort and skin irritation.
Chen is calm and reassuring, so patients feel comfortable throughout treatment.
From toddlers to teenagers, our paediatric hand therapy services are age-appropriate and designed to treat each child’s condition at our clinic on Sydney’s North Shore.
Chen Li is a dual Accredited (AHTA) and Certified (USA) practitioner based on the North Shore, with over a decade of experience in advanced paediatric and adult care. Her experience includes working at Sydney Children’s Hospital (Randwick), treating children and adolescents with a wide range of hand, wrist, and elbow conditions.
Having developed her paediatric skills at Sydney Children’s Hospital, she has treated a large number of upper limb conditions in younger patients across the North Shore and Northern Beaches, building extensive expertise in casting and splinting.
Chen continues to work collaboratively with hand and upper limb surgeons, GPs, paediatricians, and occupational therapists across Sydney to ensure that every child receives the best care possible.

We understand it can be a distressing time when you see your little one is in a lot of pain. That’s why our child hand therapy service keeps parents in the loop and fully informed by clearly explaining the treatment plan in advance. We also provide urgent hand therapy appointments if your little one needs to be seen at short notice.
Not only does this help set clear expectations on the treatment timeline, but helps educate you on what you can do to support recovery at home.
Our goal is to get young patients back to doing the activities they love, whether that’s playing an instrument, excelling in sports, or simply using their hands without discomfort. As your child progresses, Chen will adapt the treatment plan to ensure every appointment supports the needs of the whole family.
